This week Louis Vuitton released their Spring 2016 womenswear campaign and to many, having Jaden Smith star in the shots was a surprise. Jaden, 17 is the new face of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear which is saying a lot on how the fashion industry is changing and catering to the world as one, not to a certain gender. Jaden wears a pleated skirt alongside three female Louis-Vuitton-Spring-Summer-2016-Advertising-Campaign-by-Bruce-Weber-1-models in the photoshoot shot by famous photographer, Bruce Weber. Social media is joining in to support and give praise to this step forward by Louis Vuitton and praising Jaden for highlighting that a skirt is a piece of clothing for any gender, just as pants are worn by women. Jaden’s sister, Willow joined in on the social media conversation showing utmost support for her brother and what Louis Vuitton is aiming to do – break all barriers.

“Males and females are put into boxes of expectation when we are born. As we grow we start to raise the damages that those Jaden-Smith-Louis-Vuitton-2016-Spring-Summer-Campaign-001-e1451843959165expectations cause to our spiritual and emotional understanding of ourselves and life,” she wrote.
