Though rain conquered the Victoria skies, the Ageless Living Gala held in the iconic Crystal Garden was filled with stars. From gentlemen in suit and tie to ladies in their beautiful long gowns, one can deem that the night was sophistication at its best. The sold out event was hosted by Astrid Braunschmidt from CTV Vancouver Island
The evening began with drinks, and pre-dinner mingling. Women dressed as Vegas show girls welcomed guests to the Casino Royale themed affair and smiled, shook hands and socialized with Victoria’s bests. Exhibitors opened their booths so guests could experience health, beauty and wellness services first-hand.
Shortly after that, the crème de la crème of the night – A fabulous three-course dinner catered by the Fairmont Empress Hotel and the long-awaited Dance with the Stars Victoria. The number featured local personalities and entrepreneurs including Mayor Dean Fortin, former Mayor Alan Lowe, Singer/entertainer Diane Pancel, Ocean 98.5 Morning Show host – Michael Forbes, Senior VP of Raymond James Sybil Verch, Tim O’Neill – CFL Grey Cup Champ, Michael Forbes from Forbes Pharmacy, Shaw TV personality Sucheta Singh, realtor Tara Hearn, and Miss Canada 2013 Casar Jacobson.
It was exceptional to see how far these personalities had come in such a short time, thanks in large part to their talented dance partners, teachers and mentors: Warren Scott, Jeannie Kam, Carole Mason, Roman Yue, Christina Morrison, Karyn Ohara, Kevin Savage, Amanda Wild, Javier Monsalve, and Tabitha Worby.
From hip hop and samba to salsa and tango, the dancers and their partners left it all on the dance stage. The audience was delighted with the show, as were the judges, who had a very difficult time choosing a winner. The three finalists were Michael Forbes, Sybil Verch and Diane Pancel. In the end, Sybil Verch and her partner, Kevin Savage took home the grand prize trophy.
To continue the exhilarating energy, Kuba Oms and his band took to the the stage and coaxed guests into an ultimate dance frenzy with his hit single ‘Electrolove’ and ‘Beautiful Uncertainty’. Attendees together with the Dance with the Stars Victoria instructors and participants boogied in the steps of salsa, jive and everything in between.
Guests ended the night by sitting down at Casino Royale roulette wheels, blackjack and poker tables; sipping cocktails and enjoying the Vegas-style casino where they played hard to parlay $10k in play money into a trip to Las Vegas. The lucky person, who amassed more than $500K in casino chips, won the trip.
