In perfect harmony with the arrival of Canada’s colder months, The Balvenie is proud to announce the launch of the much-anticipated The Balvenie Forty in Canada, the latest release of the distillery’s signature Rare Marriages range.

The Balvenie Forty has been crafted using some of the distillery’s rarest casks, carefully matured in The Balvenie warehouses, to create this bold marriage of extraordinary character. This bold single malt embodies the pinnacle of The Balvenie’s craftsmanship, with each bottle a testament to The Balvenie’s passion for craft, nurtured over four decades.

“The Balvenie Forty is a reflection of our dedication to craftsmanship and time-honoured tradition,” comments Jamie Johnson, Canadian National Ambassador at The Balvenie. “Rich and refined, The Balvenie Forty features the boldest flavours of the coveted Rare Marriages range to date and we are honoured to share this release with Canadians this holiday season.”

Rich and refined in character, the newest Rare Marriages release boasts intense aromas of honey and orange marmalade that evolve into creamy fruitiness and vanilla on the nose. This is followed by bold flavours of orange blossom, candied ginger, honeyed sweetness, and oak, finishing with warm, lingering touches of vanilla, sherried fruit and citrus. The scotch whisky is presented in an oak-based structure comprised of stained rings, the ombre tones depict flavours developed during the marrying process.

In an homage to all things handcrafted, The Balvenie Forty also collaborated with Syrian born architect and artist Rebal Jber to commission a special art piece that interprets the marrying of whiskies from carefully selected casks, and the relationship between wood and spirit. The result is a three dimensional wood carving that has been designed to encase a bottle of The Balvenie Forty and meticulously hand-carved, symbolizing the fluidity and complexity of the liquid and the marriage of flavour that takes place in the tun.

The Balvenie’s Rare Marriages range is a collection of distinct whiskies that showcase extraordinary layers of depth and complexity, paying homage to former Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE’s dedication to the design and production of exceptional flavour. In formulating this range, The Balvenie Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie has made a small selection of rare casks, each of exceptional quality and unique flavor to bring together in this range, every sip unveiling layers of exceptional flavour. The Balvenie Forty is the third expression in The Balvenie’s Rare Marriages range.

The Balvenie Forty is available in select Canadian provinces, including New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Other product availability for The Balvenie single malt scotches vary across Canadian provinces. For specific availability, please contact your local retailer.
