Iconic Wineries of British Columbia introduces Iconic Après Lounge at Big White Ski Resort

Four-day Iconic Après Lounge pop-up showcases British Columbia’s finest wines in alpine setting

Iconic Wineries of British Columbiais bringing Okanagan wine culture to Big White Ski Resort from February 26 to March 1, introducing a pop-up alpine lounge experience at one of Canada’s premier ski destinations. 

The Iconic Après Lounge, popping up at the base of Big White Ski Resort, will showcase wines from Mission Hill Family EstateMartin’s Lane WineryCedarCreek Estate WineryCheckMate Artisanal WineryRoad 13 VineyardsRed Barn at Jagged Rock and Liquidity Wines. Guests will enjoy wines by the glass from all seven iconic wineries, charcuterie boards, live entertainment from DJ Invizible, and an interactive photo booth.  

“We thrive when creating memories for our guests around our wine,” said Charlie Drummond, Senior Estate Manager, Mission Hill Family Estate. “Partnering with our sister estates to bring our family-owned wineries to the slopeside at Big White felt like a natural fit and one we knew mountain goers and our members would truly enjoy. There’s something special about the pairing of exceptional wines and champagne powder, and we felt that enjoying it in a unique resort setting was just that.”

The lounge will open on Thursday, February 26 at 1:00 p.m., and will operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, March 1. Wine Club members of the featured wineries will enjoy priority access and exclusive pours throughout the weekend. The Iconic Après Lounge will be open to all guests, ages 19 and older.  

In addition to the Iconic Après Lounge, the four-day experience will also feature two collaboration dinners. Mission Hill’s Executive Chef Patrick Gayler will join Big White’s Executive Chef Boddie Macklin-Shaw for an exclusive collaboration dinner at the resort’s newly re-opened Kettle Valley Steakhouse on Wednesday, February 25, pairing Mission Hill Family Estate wines with a curated multi-course menu. Tickets are $199.00 CAD per person, plus applicable taxes and gratuity.

On Saturday, February 286 Degrees Bistro will host a six-course wine-paired dinner featuring wines from all seven wineries. Limited to 28 guests, tickets for this ultimate experience are $240.00 CAD per person, plus applicable taxes and gratuity.

The Okanagan wine experience extends throughout Big White Village, with wine features available throughout the weekend at Kettle Valley SteakhouseThe Woods, 6 Degrees Bistro, Fat Marmot, Bullwheel, Sopra Italian Kitchen and Black Diamond, allowing guests to extend the world-class experience across multiple dining venues. 

This collaboration is designed to connect mountain enthusiasts with the rich wine culture of the Okanagan Valley, offering a unique opportunity to experience the region’s finest wines in an alpine environment. Big White Ski Resort, located 55 minutes from Kelowna International Airport, is known for its Okanagan “champagne powder”—light, dry snow conditions.
