Gucci’s Vault, A Universe In Continuous Evolution

“Vault is a project that I have worked on with dedication and care. It is an open laboratory in which to introduce new chemical agents to continue the experiment. For me, it’s a source of immense happiness that aims to put diverse energies into circulation and to celebrate my love for objects.” - Alessandro Michele

Vault, Gucci’s experimental online space envisioned by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, continues its exploration of uncharted territories in luxury through a multidimensional evolution from its brand offering to incursions into the metaverse, fostering further dialogues between past, present, and future.

In the spirit of the concept store, Vault’s virtual shelves, already home to a distinctive combination of rare vintage Gucci finds and new creations by handpicked designers, will also welcome a wider offering of noteworthy brands dear to Alessandro Michele through exclusive capsule collections or curated selections. One of the first to create a limited-edition lineup for Vault is Belgian Maison Delvaux, which was founded in 1829 making it the oldest luxury fine leather goods brand in the world. Known for inventing the modern-day handbag, Delvaux presents an exclusive capsule of eight one-of-a-kind mini Brillant bags, each enriched with patterns inspired by the Vault palette. Charvet, the world’s oldest shirtmaker founded in 1838 on Place Vendôme in Paris, presents a collection of ties, bowties, pochettes and flower lapels in colorful archival prints re-editioned exclusively for Vault. Vault’s brand offering will also include ERL, Wales Bonner, Martine Rose and Vans with a continued spotlight on designers such as Collina Strada, Cormio, RUI and Rave Review from the inaugural lineup.

Speaking to its highly experimental ethos, Vault now takes on the mantle of emissary, representing Gucci’s presence in the metaverse and playing host to a series of crypto-based projects, including NFT drops such as the SUPERGUCCI collaboration with SUPERPLASTIC. It has also launched on Discord to foster open conversations with the community about what’s next for the experimental space.

Forever in flux and staying true to its constant pursuit of ideas that go beyond the confines of time and space, Vault will continue to present monthly drops of rare vintage finds, as well as a regular rotation of exclusive capsules, special collaborations, and new brands. The latest releases will be highlighted on its dedicated Instagram account, @guccivault, and its Discord server, Gucci Vault.
