Somersby Canada, the Canadian division of the largest cider brand in the world, is thrilled to announce its partnership with Get REAL, a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to fighting 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination, racism, and bullying. This partnership sparked from an introduction by VIBRANT Marketing, a Canadian commercial marketing firm recognized for its creative storytelling and wide array of services. In an effort to develop 19+ initiatives through their Steps of Pride program and raise awareness surrounding the cause, Somersby Canada and Get REAL have created the University Chapter program, the “Steps of Pride” virtual speaker series and Somersby will be releasing limited-edition cans, available this summer during Copenhagen 2021 WorldPride.
With their first initiative, Somersby Canada and Get REAL are teaming up for their University Chapter program to inspire students across Canadian universities to initiate positive changes in their local communities. With resources and programs constructed specifically to empower students to build new
skills, Canadian youth are presented with opportunities to expand their networks and their references for post-graduate studies and employment. Resources offered in the University Chapter program include creative, meaningful advocacy campaigns and events, and encouragement to raise funds and give back to local 2SLGBTQ+ charities (over $10,000 raised to date). The University Chapter Conference is scheduled to launch this fall, where Get REAL will be selecting their very first Chapter-wide advocacy campaign, made possible with Somersby’s continuous support and monetary contributions.
At Get REAL, the importance of public speaking is held in high regard, hence the inspiration behind their new annual virtual speaker series, “Steps of Pride.” Having already spoken to over half a million students, teachers, parents, and corporate audiences across Canada, this speaker series is an exceptional opportunity for Get REAL to pass along their learnings and amplify 2SLGBTQ+ voices through assisting speakers with developing and delivering inspiring yet educational speeches.
While Somersby Canada is aware that external commitments stem from internal work and dedication, the cider brand devotes their time with 2SLGBTQ+ and anti-racism training and education for their staff to help make the Steps of Pride program successful and impactful.
