On April 29th, H&M marked the launch of their new Stella McCartney H&M collaboration with an evening in New York City, bringing together a global community of creatives and friends including Reneé Rapp, Mark Ronson, Yasmin Wijnaldum, Janelle Monáe, Lila Moss, Amelia Gray and Charlotte Lawrence. Celebrating a shared vision of design, responsibility and self-expression, the event symbolizes a new chapter in the ongoing dialogue between fashion and sustainability.

Held in Chelsea, Manhattan, the space was transformed into an immersive, high-energy environment – a club night reinterpreted through the lens of fashion. Guests including Reneé Rapp, who starred in the collaboration’s campaign, wore looks from the collection, enjoying DJ sets from Mark Ronson, Zuri Marley and Daisy O’Dell as well as a surprise live performance by Dave.

Blurring the lines between runway and nightclub, models moved through the space wearing the collection, merging with guests before stepping onto the stage and unveiling key looks; from sharp tailoring and refined shirting to statement eveningwear and archival-inspired silhouettes, each crafted from certified and recycled fibers, alongside innovative alternatives to conventional fabrics.

Reuniting nearly 20 years after their first collaboration in 2005, this partnership signals an evolution of the H&M designer collaboration model – extending beyond product to platform. At its core is a commitment to collective impact, fostering open conversation through initiatives such as the newly established Insights Board, which brings together diverse voices to explore the future of fashion.

Celebrating Stella’s return to H&M in New York was a special moment for us. The energy of the evening captured the spirit of this boundary-pushing collaboration – creative, confident and forward-thinking – bringing together fashion, music and community in a way that feels both relevant and meaningful today.” – Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design & Creative Advisor, H&M

“Reworking pieces from my archive brought back so much energy and joy. Celebrating that here in New York, surrounded by friends and collaborators, feels like a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come on sustainability in our industry – and to stay honest about how far we still have to go, together.” – Stella McCartney

The Stella McCartney H&M collection will be available in selected stores and at hm.com from 7 May.
