Inspired by a recent trip to Los Angeles, Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing designed his Resort 2015 collection based off the playfulness of residents living in the California sun. Taking an abnormal spin for Balmain, Rousteing included a range of lace body-con maxi dresses and separates. Consisting of a major California and New Mexico essence, the collection embraced embroidery in vibrant colours of coral, turquoise and bone ivory. Textured knits, flowy skirts and draped jersey are juxtaposed with the use of leather. Taking a spin on the summer poncho, Rousteing manipulated the classic summer west coast item in a Native American motif with elaborate beading.
It became evident that the cohesive collection touched on embracing culture and different ethnicities through choices of colour and traditional silhouettes. One favourite addition to the collection, the double-breasted notched lapel long fitted blazer with gold satin accents. Jumping out of his comfort zone, Rousteing continued with his captivatingly beautiful esthetic incorporating new daunting takes on classic pieces including highly detailed high-waisted white palazzo pants. Fit for a true superwoman, Rousteing styled the looks to perfection with matching cuffs around the neck and wrists. This collection was an inevitable hit, and it will not be a surprise if celebrities choose any of these 30 looks for their luxury getaway this year.
