As new trends grace the entertainment scene, the industry continues to show up and create events that are constantly changing and bringing a new perspective to what it really means to be creative and cool. For over 70 years, the Cannes Film Festival has been one of the most exclusive events that everyone wants to be at. With the artistry of film at the forefront, the festival continues to have the best parties and events that happen every year – and this time around was no exception.

While the festival had some incredible events, one of the coolest parts of it was the fact that the festival is back in person! While COVID tests and wellness screenings were part of the regularly scheduled events, it did not deter from the excitement of the overall environment.

Starting off the ten days of excitement was Parasite’s director, Bong Joon Ho, speaking about his passion for film, any influences, and inspired the masses for the upcoming festivities. From one event to another, the director behind Memoria in Competition, took questions from the press alongside actors Tilda Swinton, Jeanne Balibar, Elkin Díaz, and Juan Pablo Urrego.

One of the most iconic events throughout the festival was the annual Cannes Pajama Party, also known as CPJ, which brings together joy and comfort. The CPJ went from underground and low key, to a full-blown rooftop party sponsored by SKIN worldwide pajamas, Grey Goose and Casamigos, DJ’d by Samantha Michelle and with guests like Hofit Golan, Actress Noa Fisher from Uncut Gems, Emmy winner Kira Reed Lorsch and many more.

Per the fashion of the festival, one of the most exciting and successful events was the buyers screening of the most anticipated films, The Lady of Heaven. While excitement was building for the film in its pre-release stage, the producers of The Lady of Heaven were included in Deadline’s Panel of International Storytelling.

They were able to bring perspective to the challenges and rewards of bringing the story of The Lady Fatima to life, a story well known to Muslims and the MENA region but largely unknown to the Western audiences. During the panel, audience members were able to learn about the making of the film, the process of finding the right people to direct and star in the film, the deep meaning behind the story, and how they made sure to accurately portray history and the story of Lady Fatima. The film also picked up the prestigious award for Best VFX at the Forbes Success Gala.

The festival included other events as well, such as the Musical Section of Bill Murray. In what was a highly entertaining and profoundly touching film, there were many surprises that left the audience in awe, in laughter, and in pure delight.

Fans, guests, press, and everyone else who was in attendance had an absolutely astounding time, with the famed Festival going above and beyond what they have done before. The films were dramatic, tear jerking, surprising, and overall were just incredible to watch. All lucky attendees cannot wait to return to Cannes for the 2022 Film season.
