The first fashion branded hotel, Palazzo Versace is located on the South Spit of Main Beach on the Gold Coast of Australia. Soheil Abedian of Sunland group first proposed the idea of a Versace Palace in 1997 knowing that Gianni was a lover of architecture and all things fashion related. At the time Versace indeed carried a wide range of merchandise including home furnishings, pottery, and bedding, everything needed to style a Palace suited to the fashion house. The main building was designed by Rocco Magnoli who put a twist on Postmodern architecture style with Neoclassical architecture.
Opening the doors in September of 2000 showed that the adornment and popularity revolved around a fashion hotel would soon result in another location. Soon after a chain hotel was developed in Dubai, currently the only 8-star hotel in the world. With 200 hotel rooms designed with true Italian attributes, 72 close by condominiums, three restaurants and its own private 90 berth marina, the hotel brings in thousands of celebrities and socialites.
On-site there are 3 award winning restaurants. Vie Bar and Restaurant overlooks the marina specializing in contemporary cuisine with a relaxed atmosphere for those who are indulging in a one-of-a-kind getaway. Il Barocco is the on location breakfast and lunch buffet with an evening seafood exclusive menu. Lastly, Vanitas is the main dining offering at the hotel which is known for innovative cuisine options with rare wine pairings.
