It’s been a successful S/S 2015 NYFW with still a few more days left we already have some looks worth splurging on for spring!

ROD_0383Rodarte brought a modern punk princess vibe to the runway with a collection consisting of mixed fabrics and the newest accessory must-have…brow bling! Yes, Rodarte’s collection had the IMG_7090audience giving more than just a second look when models were noticeably wearing multiple eyebrow rings. Not just your average bad girl, but brow hardware mixed with a pure juxtaposition of light and heavy materials created the ultimate good girl gone bad.

 

 

It was evident Donna Karan was looking to street art as one of KAR_0849her main influences for spring. Fresh and flattering silhouettes were key in this collection as well as towering hats that we will surely see Producer of the Year, Pharrell Williams rocking on the red carpet. Nostalgic 90’s essence was brought to the runway with Honor’s S/S 2015 collection featuring IMG_7086attributes that look like Candy Buttons.

Coach brought back the synthetic fur coat in pastel colour schemes paired with the perfect metallic clogs. With influence from iconic youth

Coach_001_1366-1cultures- surfing, skateboarding and music, Creative Director, Vevers is bringing a British youthful flare to Coach.

Extravagant Thom Browne did not disappoint with his spring collection, with each look a clear elaboration of  a different

KIM_1692summer activity wear. One of our favourite looks? A dress completely constructed in fishing line and of course all of the millinery..especially one resembling a badminton birdie.

Stepping into spring on the right foot is, Maison Martin Margiela creating towering platforms with clear straps and knotted ankle ties. The footwear complemented the denim and patchwork saturated cohesive collection by adding a now-factor twist.

Inspired by a recent trip to the palace of Versailles, Creative Director for Alice + Olivia, Stacey Bendet created printed from pictures taken along her journey and manipulated them into fantastical garments. Filled with 50’s style tea-length dresses and a definite 70’s vibe, Bendet showed a total of 39 looks.

 

 

Michael Kors showcased what he truly does best, neutrals paired with stunning patterns to create the perfect attire for spring endeavours. Flattering fit to

KOR_0666flare silhouettes and knits with trousers embodied the Michael Kors woman with a modern 2015 twist.

As for Oscar de la Renta we can sum up the collection by Karlie Kloss’s recent Instagram post “There is no one on earth who makes a woman feel more beautiful than Oscar de la Renta”. Feminine, lace, gingham, blush pink and chic oxfords sumLUX_3990 up this breathtakingly sleek collection. It wouldn’t be cohesive without dreamy dresses that women dream of owning. With florals, cut-outs, lace inserts and asymmetrical hemmed gowns we will definitely be seeing these pieces on the red carpet. 

 

One stand out piece from J.Crew’s spring collection, the revamped anorak. Not just your typical west coast styled jacket, this hooded and draw stringed anorak is the perfect spring coastal J_Crew_Woman_27_1366essential. The remainder of the collection consisted of very wearable separates including relaxed trousers, denim shirts and ready-to-wear casual blazers.

 

Marc by Marc Jacobs took their collection to a new height with top-knot buns and bandeau style crop tops. Pastel powder blue polka-dotted pieces, cocktail dresses MAR_0069styled over graphic tee’s and funky footwear really encompassed the easy going stylish Marc Jacobs kind of girl.

For the past few months now, Instagram has been infested with Miley Cyrus’s homemade art pieces featuring brightly covered elaborate objects and accessories. Creative Director for MOSCHINO and designer, Jeremy Scott incorporated close friend, Cyrus’s accessories into his spring collection. 80’s patterns, gold hot shorts, tie-dye, patchwork, faux fur mini skirts, SCO_0739psychedelic Doc Martens, skulls, flames and graphic tee’s were all complemented with Cyrus’s colourful handmade over-the-top jewellery. Cyrus came out for the finale, joining bestie, Jeremy Scott on the runway.
