Creative Director, Miuccia Prada brings a new wave romanticism to the runway for her fall 2015 collection in Milan. Futuristic fabrics were manipulated into silhouettes and classic styles of the 1960’s. Models strut the runway as if candy land was before ones eyes. Pastel tones and ice cream shades were brought to the forefront in this nostalgic cohesive collection. Embellished baby doll dresses paired with unforgettable block-heeled Mary Janes. Impeccable construction was demonstrated in the tailored clean-cut two-piece suits that were re-invented by the use of neoprene.
Monumental accessories and attributes of the 60’s were re-vamped for the futuristic fashionista with a sweet tooth. Long opera gloves matched the monochromatic suiting – yes, we imagine Amal Clooney gawking over these. Bejewelled brooches worn on models garments as well as shown as a hair piece showcased the multi-purpose element that many garments and accessories tended to have in the 60’s.
The collection was nothing short of a techno pastel parade of candy coated coats and the hottest items layered at best from one of the most fashionable eras. Of course Prada put a spin on the pieces modernizing them with a taste of Milano chic.
