2014 is starting off right with many designers showcasing eye-catching collections for fall menswear. There is a common thread tying together multiple designer’s looks- unique coats. Since they are without doubt a fall staple piece, designers push the boundaries this year with prints, patterns and one of NICHE’s favourites- the blanket coat. Not only a statement fashion piece, but coats this season are incorporating textures and layers making fashion with an addition of function.

Valentino design duo- Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri collaborate on a collection consisting of blanket coats with touches of Navajo and geometric patterns. Salvatore Ferragamo showcases a blanket coat with horizontal stripes of orange, cream and rich browns creating a warm fall colour palette. Bringing an exceptional balance of fashion and function is designer, Neil Barrett. Ombré bleeds of black to rich caramel browns on wool blends create harmony for fall fashion. Designer, E.Tautz showcases oversized coats in complementing colours to contrast against monochromatic attires.

With men’s fashion week coming to an end this Sunday, NICHE is immensely excited to see some runway coats translated into street style and everyday looks this fall.
