“Sea, Sun and Love”
D&G takes us to Sicily with their Spring 2013 rtw collection. Striped 50’s inspired beachwear, basket weave dresses, bustiers, elaborate baroque prints, raffia sacks, and ethnic applique was the basis of this vibrant collection. The inspiration was drawn from ceramic vases, Italian artwork and traditional baskets, which were all brought to life strutting down the runway. The 50’s inspired silhouettes were a crowd pleaser for their feminine feel with an artisan touch. Street-puppet drop earrings dangled from models ears and colourful silk bandana scarfs wrapped around their heads. To top off the look, D&G stole hearts with their bright sandals structured with bamboo heels. The sun was shining on this Sicilian journey.
