Designer, Numan Ataker showed the John Paul AtakerSpring/Summer 2018 Collection during his fifth season during New York Fashion Week and today at IMG’s Skylight Clarkson Square. World renowned models walked the runway including Taylor Hill, Lameka Fox, Faretta, Birgit Kos, Charlee Fraser and Dayana Mendoza with Karlie Kloss closing the show.
Trendsetting celebrities took photos and lined the front row of Gallery I. Notable attendees included Actress and Singer Victoria Justice, Pop Star and TV Personality Paula Abdul, Actress Lela Loren, Actress and Access Hollywood host Liz Hernandez, E! The show comes in anticipation of the ready-to-wear brand’s first U.S. flagship store opening in October 2017 at 804 Madison Avenue and 67th Street in New York City.
This collection is based on the rich cultural heritage and folklore of The Black Sea zone of Turkey. Authentic and vernacular assets of the region are incorporated into Ataker’s signature gowns, dresses and separates designed for daily and formal wear.The color palate has a large emphasis on unbleached fabrics and is predominantly white, ivory and black.
The runway also presented a line of exclusive shoes designed by John Paul Ataker as contemporary interpretations of traditional fishermen’s boots and farmers’ footwear embellished with metallic fishermen cords that will be sold in the Madison Avenue store.
